Prayer works!

Although you're made in God's image, your thoughts have a mind of their own. Often the things you're pondering aren't even close to what God has in mind for you, because His thoughts and ways are vastly higher than your thoughts and ways. This is where persistence in prayer plays a very interesting role, for the more you pray about something, the more God refines your thoughts, making them more and more like His own- until one day, you understand how to refine your prayers, revise your plans, or transform your thoughts and ways. You figure out what you really should be praying for, which turns out to be something that matches your desire with what God desires for you. Today, consider your thoughts, desires, and petitions before God. Ask Him to revise your musings and ways so they match up with His. Then listen to what He has to say, and write down what and how He'd have you pray.
